MoveCheck ("we", "us", "our") is a property intelligence service operated from the United Kingdom. We provide area reports for UK properties using publicly available government data sources. For any privacy-related enquiries, contact us at hello@movecheck.co.uk.
We collect minimal personal data. Specifically:
Postcode searches: When you generate a report, we process the UK postcode and listing price you enter. These are not personal data — postcodes typically cover multiple addresses and cannot identify an individual.
Payment information: All payments are processed by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your credit card details, bank information, or billing address on our servers. Lemon Squeezy handles all payment data in accordance with PCI DSS standards. We receive a license key and transaction reference only.
License keys: When you purchase a report, we store a license key in a cookie on your browser to remember your purchase. This cookie persists for 12 months.
Analytics: We may use basic analytics tools to understand how visitors use our site (pages visited, time on site, general location). This data is aggregated and does not identify individuals.
We do not collect or store:
Names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, IP addresses (beyond standard server logs), or any other personally identifiable information for the purpose of report generation. You do not need to create an account to use MoveCheck.
The limited data we process is used solely to:
Generate your property intelligence report by querying official government data sources on your behalf. Validate and manage license keys for purchased reports. Improve our service through aggregated, anonymised usage statistics.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared only with:
Lemon Squeezy — our payment processor, who handles transactions under their own privacy policy.Government data APIs — we send postcodes (not personal data) to official UK government APIs (Police.uk, Environment Agency, Ofsted, etc.) to generate reports.Anthropic — we send anonymised area data (scores, statistics) to generate AI-powered narrative summaries. No personal data is included in these requests.
We use one functional cookie to store your license key after purchase. This is essential for the service to remember that you have paid for a report. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Notice for more detail.
Report data is cached temporarily (up to 1 hour) to improve performance for repeat queries to the same postcode. After this period, data is discarded. We do not maintain a permanent database of generated reports linked to individuals.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, or port any personal data we hold about you. Given that we collect minimal personal data, these rights are unlikely to be relevant in most cases. However, if you have concerns, contact hello@movecheck.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days.
MoveCheck is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Continued use of MoveCheck after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
