MoveCheck is a property intelligence service that generates area reports using publicly available UK government data sources. By using MoveCheck, you agree to these terms.
MoveCheck reports are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice and should not be treated as a substitute for independent professional guidance. Specifically:
MoveCheck does not replace conveyancing searches, property surveys, structural assessments, or any other professional inspection. Our reports provide area-level intelligence, not property-specific assessments. Scores, ratings, and narratives are generated algorithmically based on publicly available data and may not reflect the complete picture for any specific property.
You should always seek independent professional advice (from a qualified surveyor, solicitor, financial advisor, or other relevant professional) before making any property purchase decision. MoveCheck accepts no liability for decisions made based on our reports.
We source data from official UK government databases and public records including HM Land Registry, Police.uk, Ofsted, the Environment Agency, British Geological Survey, DEFRA, and others. While we take reasonable steps to ensure accuracy:
Data is accurate as of the report generation date and may become outdated. We rely on the accuracy of upstream government sources and cannot guarantee their correctness. Some data points involve estimation or algorithmic scoring, which are described in the methodology sections of each report. Environmental screening (flood risk, ground stability, radon, contaminated land) is indicative only and does not replace formal environmental searches.
We aim to keep MoveCheck available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service depends on third-party government APIs which may experience downtime. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
Report purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. By making a purchase, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms of service. Prices are displayed in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Upon payment, you receive a license key that unlocks the full report for the postcode you searched. Bundle purchases (5 or 10 reports) provide license keys valid for multiple reports.
License keys are for personal use and are non-transferable. Each report activation consumes one credit from your license. License keys do not expire. You are responsible for keeping your license key secure. We cannot replace lost license keys but will make reasonable efforts to assist if you contact us with proof of purchase.
We offer refunds in accordance with our Refund Policy. In summary: if you are unsatisfied with your report for any reason, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked.
The MoveCheck name, logo, website design, report format, scoring methodology, and narrative content are the intellectual property of MoveCheck. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any part of the service without written permission.
Government data used in reports is Crown Copyright or Open Government Licence and is attributed accordingly. You may share your purchased report for personal use (e.g. with your solicitor, mortgage advisor, or family).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MoveCheck shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the report in question.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You agree not to: use the service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer the scoring algorithms; scrape or systematically download reports for commercial redistribution; misrepresent MoveCheck reports as official government documents or professional assessments; or use automated tools to generate bulk reports without our consent.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of MoveCheck after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
